Eminem Receives Two New Certifications in UK

The BPI updated the status of a non-single from “Recovery” and an iconic number that introduced “The Marshall Mathers LP” to the public.

“The Real Slim Shady” was released as the MMLP lead single in April 2000 to resounding success. No .4 on the Billboard chart was the highest charting position Eminem had ever got by that time. However, the single got its first certification in the USA only in 2018. The label just didn’t apply to it earlier. So, in 2018, the RIAA awarded “The Real Slim Shady” with Silver, Gold and 4 Platinum certificates all in one day. In 2020, the number of Platinum plaques went up to seven.

Things were following a more natural curve in the UK, where “The Real Slim Shady” debuted at No.1 on the national chart. It got its Silver in 2004 and has been steadily adding accolades ever since. The British Phonographic Society awarded “The Real Slim Shady” with 4x Platinum status this Friday.
