Eminem Dropped “Kamikaze” Album 5 Years Ago

On August 31, 2018, Eminem’s surprise album appeared out of the blue bringing on its wings the fury of Rap God. Despite the complete absence of promotion, the album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 with 434,000 album-equivalent units, getting into the Top 10 best selling first week albums of the year. By the end of the year “Kamikaze” had sold over 1,014,000 album-equivalent units in the US. The RIAA certified the album Platinum in December 2018, after under four months of sales, and has not updated this certification since. On Spotify, “Kamikaze” is ranked sixth most streamed Eminem album with over 3 billion lifetime plays. It is a good day to add some more to its count. Listen to the album below: To mark the occasion, the label released the Kamikaze 5th Anniversary Capsule filled with collectables, merch, signed items, and new apparel.
