Deep in the Michigan Central Station Opening Gala review, “The Death of Slim Shady” ’s release date was mentioned. But not anymore. The staff deleted the sentence, making all fans think that it was the correct one.
In a long and complimentary article about a spectacular show that celebrated the re-birth of the Detroit landmark, Billboard briefly, without much fuss, put a date to an event that millions of fans anticipate:
Joined by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra the hoodied rapper presented the live debut of “Houdini,” the just-released first single from his upcoming The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) album (July 5).
The Internet time machine still remembers this first version of an article. However, it disappears in several hours. You won’t find the slightest hint of a possible release date in the final version, which is up on the Billboard website now. We can imagine how Paul Rosenberg, who just gave comments to the magazine to showcase the success of a show he executive produced together with Marshall, gave the publication a call to remove a date. Because it was incorrect or because it was too early to reveal it? Your guess is as good as ours.
But the beginning of July looks like a good time to release a summer album. It leaves several more weeks to warm the audience and maybe even release another single. It does mean that we all will have to live with bated breath for several weeks longer, but judging by the incredible “Houdini” success, this album is worth the wait. The post Billboard Accidentally Leaks Eminem’s New Album Release Date first appeared on Eminem.Pro - the biggest and most trusted source of Eminem.
