Eminem — “Curtain Call: The Hits” Moves Up on Billboard Charts

The classic “Curtain Call: The Hits” compilation album is climbing the ladder on four different Billboard charts this week.

Even though it’s not a new album, and there is no fancy repackaging or other promo tricks, it’s still moving up just because the hits keep on hitting.

“Curtain Call: The Hits” jumped spots on the Billboard 200, the big one that tracks all the hottest albums and EPs. Sales are down a tick (1.1%, to be exact), but something about the competition (or lack thereof) must have opened a lane for the album to move up from No.49 to No.43.

According to the Luminate (formerly known as Nielsen SoundScan) data reported by Forbes, the project is not crushing the charts on physical sales (only 636 copies were sold last week), but the streaming game is on point. “Curtain Call: The Hits” bumped up two spots to No.35 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. No wonder, as the album gains over 7 million streams daily streams on Spotify only.

As expected, the album shows the best result on hip hop rankings, its home turf. “Curtain Call: The Hits” rose from No.17 to No.14 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. It almost cracked the top 10 on the Top Rap Albums chart, too, stalling out at No.11 after being at No.12 last week. Not bad for a greatest-hits collection that was released almost 20 years ago, right?

Curtain Call might not be a new release, but it’s a timeless collection of Eminem’s greatest hits, and people just do not stop listening to them.
