Eminem Charts 5 Songs on Spotify This Week, More Than Any Rap Artist

Among 200 songs on the Spotify Weekly Top Songs Global, there are 21 rap tracks this week. Five of them are recorded by Eminem. It’s almost a quarter of all hip hop represented on the chart. The most popular track this week was Drake’s fresh single “Search & Rescue”, this one alone has gained over 18.4 million streams. Hot on its heels is Marshall’s classic, 2004 “Mockingbird”, which got 15.2 million streams over the recent seven days. Drake also looks strong in terms of the number of songs he put on the chart. Besides his most recent release, there are three more tracks released in collaboration with other artists: Drake & 21 Savage “Rich Flex”, Drake feat. Kyla & Wizkid “One Dance”, and Drake & 21 Savage “Jimmy Cooks”. However, it is not the biggest number the artist can chart in one week. Eminem has five tracks to his name on the list. All were recorded and released solo in the early 2000s. In fact, Eminem is the only artist from the era whose music still makes these impressive numbers that allow him to confidently compete with streaming era artists. The longevity of Em’s legacy is unparalleled indeed. Here are all hip hop songs charted on the Spotify Weekly Top Songs Global on a week ending April 22: 1.
