The D.O.C. Educates Fans on Eminem Writing for Dr. Dre

The D.O.C. is a hip hop force to be reconned with. Is voice is powerful and unforgettable, both before and after the accident that damaged his vocal cords; his writing abilities are unparalleled; he worked with creme de la creme of the hip hop elite. And also he is always ready to give credit where the credit is due. That happened recently on Twitter when a fan praised D.O.C. for his work on Dr. Dre’s groundbreaking album “2001”. He wanted to dive deeper, listen to reference tracks, and above all, learn more about “What’s the Difference”, which Dr. Dre recorded with Eminem and Xzibit. Well, D.O.C. was happy to oblige and revealed to a follower that he was not, in fact, the one who wrote this song. This one is on Eminem. Just that simple: Em wrote it. Probably, people often assume that Marshall’s name on the song credit just covers his own verse. However, neither Dr. Dre nor Eminem ever tried to conceal the fact that Marshall was heavily involved in writing song for the Good Doctor. Hopefully, next time this fan will pay more respect to Shady. Marshall, in his turn, respects The D.O.C. immensely. You can tell after watching a documentary about D.O.C. where Em had a chance to ask the legend about some of his lines — rapping them from the top of his head, of course. Watch Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Xzibit performing “What’s The Difference” live on the Up in Smoke tour. The post The D.O.C.
